Muskegon River Cabin Rental
Logan's Run has a perfect front row seat as the mighty Muskegon River rolls on by. The Muskegon River was recently named one of the top ten fishing rivers east of the Mississippi. Few places have access to so many recreational activities. Whether your passion is summer or winter sports, our area is sure to please. Newaygo County has 234 lakes and 356 miles of rivers and streams for endless opportunities to canoe, kayak or raft down the river. In summer and fall you can choose from farmer's markets, roadside stands and u-pick farms for a variety of fruits, vegetables and farm-raised meats as well as our many community festivals that are fun for the whole family.
Spring is my particular favorite. Spring means blue ribbon steelhead fishing as the fish make their annual spawn and become very active in the river. We have landed many steelies by fly rod over 10 pounds. The warmth of the summer brings people from all over to enjoy the scenery. Whether you prefer touring by canoe, kayak or just a relaxing float in a tube, all is easily accessible nearby throughout most of the season. Fishermen typically enjoy spending time with the abundant trout, smallmouth bass or monster walleye that can be found. Fall is probably the most popular because of the numerous activities involving our natural resources. The colors are spectacular and the salmon fill the river followed by hopeful anglers.
Some anglers concentrate on the fantastic trout fishing, and others focus on the fall steelhead run. Aside from fisherman, hunters frequent the area with the sights set on the abundant white tail deer and turkey populations that can be found throughout the thousands of acres of federal land nearby. Hot weather not for you? Winter sports compete pretty well with the summer.
Many prefer winter steelhead fishing with great success. The river is an impressive sight to behold in the winter. Of course the snow always brings out the snowmobiles in groves. What sets Logan's Run apart from other hotels and motels that Newaygo has to offer? Sixty feet of beautiful Muskegon river frontage that you will have access anytime day or night. Whether you feel like walking over to sneak a peek for some fish, or sit out and have a drink while watching the people float by, itís just footsteps away. We look forward to helping you and your family experience all of the things that made us fall in love with the river. We will see you on the river!
